Meiji Shrine is located in Yoyogi near Harajuku station. I used to live near the Shrine and I loved to take a walk in the Shrine. Though I am a Christian I feel some kind of holiness in the Shrine and in Cintoizm.
Meiji Shrine is at the center of Tokyo and has easy access so many people gather not only Japanese but also foreigners from various countries. In fact on business days, 90% of people who visit the shrine are foreigners. So you will feel you are in a multi-ethnic foreign shrine.
This day people were not so much. They walk on gravelly path toward the center of the shrine.
Incredibly various Sake(rice wine) are dedicated.
This are poetries Meiji Emperor and his wife made.
At the center many people gathered.
A wedding ceremony was conducted. This is not a usual thing so the audience were so lucky.
Happy bridal couple.
In times of coronavirus, everyone around the world is suffering. But when this situation is over, I want you guys all over the world to visit and enjoy Japan again.
